Intel Centrino processors to cross 3.0GHz mark!

The next-gen Intel Centrino CPU (Centrino 2) based on the Montevina platform is rumored to be out in June. This new processor will feature a 1066MHz front-side bus and core speeds between 2.26GHz and 3.06GHz. Centrino 2 will launch with six 45nm notebook CPUs. The latest systems offering this chipset will also feature Wimax and upgraded WiFi.
Intel's recent mobile chipsets, Carmel, Sonoma, Napa, and Santa Rosa, have all been branded as Centrino, and though the technology and specs have continued to improve significantly, the constant brand name has left consumers unable to identify the differences.
