The long rumored and leaked and awaited Android powered HTC Dream has finally gained the FCC approval. This means that the device is ready for launch soon.
The device is said to be labeled as (model) ' DREA100'. And the features and physical specs seem to be inline with the leaked video we saw earlier. So would we see a October November release as rumored?

Janta,
You must have noticed the changed look of the site since morning. We have temporarily switched back to a basic theme for our CMS. This is to provide relief to several users running IE7 who have been facing trouble loading the site. We shall return to our original Avatar as soon as the bug is fixed. BRB
Thx

Hp Elitebook 2730p tablet running the Centrino 2 looks much more strong in the new set of pics out at Gizmodo. The set is with a SSD option, has a Jog dial and meets the 810F Standards for temperature and dust. So even before Apple refreshes its Macbook Air and releases its Tablet, the competition has heated up.

Google India is facing a defamation case filed by Gremach Infrastructure Equipments & Projects on a series of articles published on Blogger. The articles were about the companies mines in Mozambique. The high court has asked Google to provide details about the blogger.
"In its petition filed, Gremach said a series of articles titled “Toxic Writer” were posted on Google’s blogging site between January and February. The article amounted to a “hate campaign” against the company, according to Gremach." - ET
While the first incident in India pertaining a blogger (yeah, for some Orkut was the only known platform), this comes at a time when increasing number of bloggers are being tamed by the authorities across the world ( mainly in oppressive regimes).
In a second case Google India, Yahoo and Microsoft have been submitted a notice by the supreme court based on a petition seeking a ban on popular online search engines promoting sex selection techniques (displaying ads). While the petetioner claims that the sites were brought to the notice of the concerned authorities, no action was taken.

ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 is said to be the fastest Graphics Card ever. Costing $550 approx, this card produces 2.4 teraFLOPS of power; combining two ATI Radeon HD 4800 series GPUs into one card backed by a 2GB onboard memory!
Sometimes I really doubt if these every adding list of Graphic Cards is worth it at all? If I upgraded everytime something new came, I would have spent more on the card than the entire PC!

Android rumors are a daily affair now, and again this time the rumored device is HTC Dream. The big touchscreen device with a sliding QWERTY (yes the same one we just saw in a leaked video). So what is it this time?
According to fresh reports, T-Mobile is all set to start a Pre-Sale of the Android powered HTC Dream from September 17th. The device will be priced anywhere between $150 and $399, and the presale might be limited to exisitng Tmobile customers only. Also adding to the rumored features is a 3Mp camera & three colour options (brown, black and white).

Just a quick update! Mobile Messenger FRING now supports Nokia E71. This add-on really makes E71 a complete web enabled device. The only thing now missing is Blackberry Connect.

ATILA is the non-QWERTY version of Alexander that we saw before. And this time it looks like Moto has something good. Offering a healthy spec sheet with high speed data (UMTS/HSDPA), WiFi, 2.8" touchscreen, WM 6.1. Though no word about camera, launch or pricing; this would surely be the one to watch out for.

When Google announced the open source Android, they kicked off a developers challenge to create apps for the Android platform. And they promised a whooping $10 million to be distributed for the best apps. So why does Google care so much for the apps? Why such a big amount? Its not that 10mln is too big for Google, but it is a significant amount.
My questions were answered by Apple's Appstore for the iPhone! Apple recently launched the iPhone v2.0 with Appstore enabling 3rd party apps. And accorging to a WSJ report, Apple has already sold apps worth $30 million in the first month. If this trend continues, Apple takes home atleast $360 in revenues (offcourse a good part of that will go to the developers). But still, with the impending release of iPhone in many other countries, the figure will only rise.

Sony Ericsson has announced the T700 which is a Slim device with a metal finish. Powered by a 3.2MP camera, and good stereo speakers, and after a long time we feel that SE might have a winner here. The design and features are just perfect in the Mid-range, Just like the T610 which was probably the best in its time. Hope they get the pricing right aswell!

Airtel has announced the official date for iPhone 3G launch in India as 22nd August. Though we hear that Vodafone would launch the same a week earlier, what would be interesting is the pricing! We heard about Airtel's plans for iPhone in India way back in June, but the actual pricing is till undisclosed by both Airtel and Vodafone.
Apparently the activation process was tricky for Airtel due to some conflicts with TRAI regulations (rumored!), They seem to have finally cracked the issue. iPhone in India would run on EDGE untill 3G is rolled out next year.

We read about Motorola's last hope to survive in the mobile market. And here we have some leaked shots of the Motorola Alexander. It immediately reminds me of the O2 XDA IIs, but this one appears a little short. The rumored specs mentions a 5 or 8 MP camera, a NVIDIA chip (for 3D graphics) and Windows Mobile 6.1! Expected to be release by Year end, this one better be good (though looks ugly).

Imagine a PenPhone, not too difficult to visualize? Then consider a Pen Phone with a touchscreen, Still easy? Then imagine a Pen phone with a rollable touch screen! If this concept phone that we are looking at is to be believed, it would even feature a camera and off course it works as a normal pen as well. Also on offer is a mini bluetooth headset to make the phone part of the 'concept' easier.
